Rwanda Organization for Development Initiatives (RODI Rwanda), in partnership with Gold Youth Development Agency and Ruhango District, is proud to introduce the Gold Youth Programme. This three-year initiative is a testament to our collective commitment to empowering young Rwandans through education, job creation, and positive behavior change.

Investing in the Future: The Power of Peer Education with RODI

The Gold Youth Programme, implemented by RODI Rwanda, leverages the power of peer education. We train a team of dedicated “junior peer educators,” currently high school S4 students, on various crucial topics:

• Human Rights
• Gender Issues
• Avoiding Child Abuse
• Leadership
• Role Modeling
• Academic Support (reading comprehension and reflective learning)

These trained peer educators become facilitators, sharing their knowledge with their peers and inspiring positive change. RODI equips them with essential resources, including educational materials like books, to carry out their mission effectively.

Building a Brighter Future: Our Vision

The Gold Youth Programme’s core belief centers on the transformative power of role models and educators. We aim to:

• Raise a generation of educated, self-motivated, and well-behaved youth with a clear purpose in life.
• Equip them with the necessary skills to navigate challenges and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
• Foster a culture of positive behavior change and empower young people to take ownership of their future.

Reaching Out: The Programme’s Scope

The Gold Youth Programme is currently active in the Ruhango district, explicitly focusing on Byimana and Ruhango sectors. We collaborate with schools like Gs Ruhango Catholique, Gs Muyange, and Gs Bukomero. Over the next three years (2023-2026), the program will continue to empower 35 peer educators per site, guiding them on their journey from “junior peer educators” to confident “Gold Grads.” These graduates will then select the next generation of S4 peer educators, ensuring the program’s sustainability.
